The Xbox 360 in a Small Nutshell

The Xbox 360 is the successor to the Xbox, and competes with the PlayStation 3 and the Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. The Xbox 360 is also compatible with the Zune, which is posted on the Xbox Official Website.

Xbox Live, incidentally, supports voice and video communication, the latter a feature possible with the Xbox Live Vision which is an add-on USB web camera designed specifically for the Xbox 360 which I might add has a portfolio of nearly 400 games in 37 countries. So it's doing pretty well don't you think.

The Xbox 360 has been constantly outsold by Nintendo Wii and in the past few months it seems like even the PS3 has managed to attract more gamers than Microsofts gaming platform. Nintendo Wii was always about casual gaming , unlike Xbox 360 which was conceived as a console for real gamers. You can see this not only by the success of the Nintendo Wii, which is built on casual gaming, but also the success of games such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Singstar.

The Xbox 360's graphical user interface is actually the Xbox 360 Dashboard, a tabbed interface that features five "Blades" (formerly four blades), and was designed by AKQA. With its extensive digital media features, a superior online service, and an excellent game library, the Xbox 360 remains the game console to beat ( depending on your personal choice of course).

The Xbox 360 is an excellent console. The raw processing power of it is many times greater than the original console. Aesthetically, it is a dramatic leap over the original Xbox.
