How To Transfer Music, Games & Movie Files To PSP

Don't know how to transfer games, music and movie files from your computer to your PSP? - No worries, we'll show you exactly how to do it!

What You Need Before You Start

Obviously, you'll need your PSP device (version 1.5 or higher). You'll also need a computer (Windows or Mac) and a 2.0 high-speed USB cable. And of course, your games, music or music files!

If you've got your files from a download site, they are probably resident in a folder within your download program. However, you can download your music, games and movies from any source you like including CD, DVD and files stored on your computer. iTunes music and movies can be transferred to PSP, but not without being converted to the correct format first.

When building your music and movie library, it's best to buy additional portable memory, as you don't have much space on the 32MB memory stick that comes with PSP itself. A 512MB or higher memory stick is best.

Step 1 - Prepare Your Files For Transfer

Select the PSP games, movies or music files you want on your PSP, and transfer them to your computer, either by downloading them from a download site, or by ripping from a DVD or CD. If transferring files from iTunes, remember to convert them using audio file conversion software such as All Music Converter, Switch (both for Windows) or Music Man (for Mac). Once the PSP files are on your computer in the correct file format, you are almost ready to transfer them to your PSP.

Step 2 - Connect Your PSP To Your Computer

Next, you need to connect your PSP to your computer. Do this by turning on the PSP and putting it into "USB CONNECT" mode (it should display the words "USB CONNECT" on the PSP display while you're transferring files. Next, connect the PSP to your computer using a 2.0 high speed USB cable connected to high speed USB port on your computer (you may need to fiddle about with ports until your computer stops complaining that you have the wrong one). Once your PSP is connected plugged in, click Start > My Computer, and you will see the PSP appear as an additional drive on your computer. Its name will depend on how many drives you already have associated with your computer. For example, if you have your main drive, and your DVD/CD-ROM drive, your PSP will probably be called "Drive E:". On a Mac, it will show up as "Removable Drive".

Step 3 - Transfer Your Files

Once your PSP shows up on your computer, you'll need to navigate the different directories within the PSP as they appear on your computer to find the folder labelled MUSIC, GAMES or VIDEO, depending on what sort of files you're transferring. Now drag and drop your files to your desired folder.

Step 4: Listen!

Once you've moved your files onto your Sony PSP device, all that remains is to enjoy them! Remove your USB cable and take the PSP out of "USB CONNECT" mode. If you're listening to music or watching movies, this is best done via headphones. Go to the MUSIC, GAMES or VIDEO on the PSP and find your files by looking in "Memory Stick", and you're away!

Super Mario Bros - A Detailed Look

Mario Brosstarted off as an arcade game made by the gaming giants Nintendo and was first released in 1983. Later on portable versions for home gaming systems were developed. It was a by-product of the popular Donkey Kong series with a heavy influence of the game Joust developed by William Electronics in 1982. Designed by Shigeru Miyamoto, it was the first game to use Mario's name in the title (Mario was called Jumpman in earlier versions). It also starred Mario's brother, Luigi (hence the name Mario Bros.) who later became a permanent fixture of Mario games. He is usually shown as Mario's cowardly young brother but later on due to his popularity he took a distinct personality of his own with surprising moments where he stood up for his own. Unlike Donkey Kong, where Mario appeared simply as a side-show carpenter, in this game Mario starred as a plumber, destroying pests that emerge from pipes.

A remade version of the game is included as a mini-game within the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) release of Super Mario Bros. 3 and also features in the remake, Super Mario All-Stars. Improved remakes of Mario Bros. were released on the Famicom Disk System. A contained version of this remake called Mario Bros. Classic was released solely in the European market.

The game begins with a classical music piece from Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusik. Apart from the two main characters, Mario and Luigi, the game includes several enemy figures like;

Shellcreeper:

Sidestepper:

Fighter Fly:

Slipice:

Popularly known as Freezies, these are blocks of ice that, no points for guessing, freezes platforms. These resemble flies, as is suggested by the name, and can be hit only from beneath. Crab look-alikes, they take two hits to flip and are just a tad faster than the shellcreepers. These look like turtles and have to be hit once to flip and get eliminated.

The game strategy is to kill these vermin coming out from the pipes by hitting them from above or below, making them flip and then shoving them off the screen with a kick. The tricky part is that if they are not taken off the screen right away after flipping them, they flip over and become faster than before and therefore more difficult to kill. Small gold coins keep popping up through out the game which when collected give bonus points to the players. Three small square blocks appear in the game which when hit throws off all the enemies from the platforms. But as said earlier, they appear only thrice throughout the game and have to be therefore used sparingly.

Most, if not all, Mario Bros games revolve around the main theme of this one. Later additions were made to make the game more advance and complex to make it challenging and interesting for the players. Some of the later versions include, Super Mario Advance, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Mario Clash.

Game Boy Advance, Game Watch, Saga, Virtual Boy and Virtual Console all offer Mario Bros. games.

Mario Game are available in a lot of platform such as the GameBoy Advance, Famicom Disk System, NES and many others. There are also flash game versions of Super Mario available for download. Checkout Free Mario Game for free online games to play.

PSP and It's Possibilities

The PSP was released a couple of years ago and the cost was high for such a small entertainment device, the price was around $250. But once it hit the shelves, nobody even cared about or even looked at the price and it was quickly sold out. It was also hard for any suspected buyer to find one for a few months after it's release so it was like first come first serve.

It came in a value pack with a battery, headphones with a remote, a 32mb memory stick and a soft case. In March of 2006 they cut the package down. You got the PSP system, a battery pack and an AC adapter and the price also went down to a more affordable price of $200.

The PSP was released in order to beat Nintendo's Game Boy Advance and Game Boy DS, which were at the top of the home console industry with portable game systems for almost a decade. Sony looked at the success of their Playstation 2 and turned it into a portable game system called the Playstation Portable (PSP). In addition to playing games with Playstation 2 graphics, it can play music and movies that were downloaded from the internet or by disc, download and save your favorite pictures so it acts like a digital picture album and it can also surf the internet. Now the PSP is the king of the portable game industry.

Now, the PSP is at a way more affordable price of around $170 and is slowly getting more additions to it's gaming arsenal of fun. You can get different backgrounds and themes, different software additions like bigger speakers so you can really hear what's playing, you can customize the front and back covers to your liking, get handles to make it feel like a Playstation 2 controller, and lots of other cool things.

PSP downloads are a good source of music, games and movies and is the cheapest way to go rather than having to go buy a new game that costs more than a new Playstation 2 game. All you need is a computer with internet connection and a connection for the PSP to the computer. With PSP downloads you can download and burn as many games, movies and as much music as you want. So have lots of fun with you PSP and newly downloaded games.

Creating an IT Help Desk

When creating a help desk for IT support at your company, it assists your department in several ways. This helps you gain better response, save time, and offer total IT service for the staff as well as customers at your business.

A help desk for IT is created so that staff can answer the telephones. These staff members are computer technicians trained to help people solve problems on the phone. By offering steps to take to fix problems, usually problems can be resolved without the staff member having to visit the help desk itself.

Help desk IT support groups provide better department response to computer problems that occur within the company. The department can reduce the amount of e-mail inquiries and requests for someone to visit the help desk by placing helpful IT staff on the phone lines. This will ultimately save time on both sides, as the people do not have to make a special visit and the problems will be fixed more quickly.

When adding the help desk to your business you're providing complete IT support company-wide. This part of your department will be the first point of contact when a technical problem occurs; if the problem cannot be resolved over the phone the issue will escalate from there and be referred to some other IT staff person who will go to the location to solve the problem.

Internet technology support often uses a ticketing system, or help desk software, in order to get the best value out of your support staff's skill sets and time. In this way, all the calls that arrive at the desk are able to be tracked, prioritized, and assigned. This facilitates the benefit of being able to monitor the issues that staff often call about, and find better automatic fixes or get to the root of the problem to prevent recurrences.

By providing IT support by integrating a help desk into your department, you are making a good business decision. The department will ultimately become more productive when able to repair things on the telephone, and you'll be providing thorough IT support at the company.
